Hey, team. Jad here.

The New Radio's been busy. We went out to Maryland for SPX, did the Stumptown ComicsFest here in Portland and we've done a few interviews, at Black Cat Comics, at CindyCenter.com and at IndependentPropaganda.com.

And as we're also wrapping up production on the 100-page first part of Poison The Cure, we're gonna let you have a peek. Copies will be available right here at newradiocomics.com at the end of February and will be in stores later in the year. Heck yeah.

Come back soon. We got lots comin'. Oh, and you should be in the 2 Rowdy Krew.

Your krew needs you.

You should be in The 2 Rowdy Krew.

Hey, team. Alex here with a little update. Rather than put a shorter book this year as said before, we're gonna have the first part of Poison the Cure come out in stores as a 100-page bruiser around summertime next year. However, we'll have the book for sale through the site months before that and we'll preview it at a couple shows and at a handful of stores around the country before its solicited release. We simply decided that this first chunk of the story will be a better package with more of the story in it.

Meanwhile, you can see tons of preview art from the book at shows next month. Catch Jad and me at SPX in Maryland (13th-14th) and at Stumptown Comics Fest (27th-28th) right here in Portland, Oregon. And look back at the site soon for a good chunk of preview art from the book.

You should be in The 2 Rowdy Krew.

It's Prime Time.

What up, team!

Yeah, it's been a little while, but let no one accuse The New Radio of being lazy. The art for Poison the Cure is being wrapped up for its December release (you've seen the handsome snapshots at the front of the site), and we've finally got the 2 Rowdy Krew set up. Check out this new part of the site and get your hands on a 2 Rowdy shirt, either by helping us promote our books or by buying the shirt. You can also get your hands on a New Radio shirt now, too. Both shirts available here.

Email us immediately if you're interested in helping us spread the word about Poison. We provide the promotional materials, and if you really come through we'll reward you generously and never forget it. The New Radio's just gettin' started. Keep checkin' back for more Poison art.

Daaang.

Oh, yeah. And check out Alex's interview over at Newsarama. Will he ever learn to shut up?

A land invasion in Asia.

Hey, team. Just a quick howdy to let you all know that Poison the Cure is gonna be coming out this December, and that's official. Keep your eyes peeled here for previews, 'cause we'll be showing off snippets from the book. One of your buddies from the book is pictured above. Don't get mad.

Also coming soon on the site is the 2 Rowdy Krew section, where you'll be able to print off downloadable promotional material and, in return for free art, free books, and exclusive 2 Rowdy Krew t-shirts, help us promote the release of Poison. It's gonna be glorious. More soon. 2 rowdy.

Team.

The bad news is, if you arm-wrestled Jad, you'd lose. The good news is, The Last Island is still getting well-deserved good press. Sequart has a lot to say about it, as does The Comic Queen.

Tell all your friends.

And if you're the kinda person who's good at spreading word of beautiful things, stay tuned, 'cause The New Radio wants to give you free stuff. We want you to help start the 2 Rowdy Krew. More later.

Things you should know about The New Radio:

Alex is exhibiting and selling the pages of The Last Island at Portland's Sequential Art Gallery all through the month of April. The opening (and therefore the free booze and food) is tonight, Thursday the 6th, from 6-10 p.m. Come by and see the walls of the gallery fully painted up to imitate the book.

The Last Island is now out in stores, and it needs your eyeballs.

Alex was interviewed about the book, among other things, at Aint-It-Cool News, at Cinescape, and at The Portland Mercury.

Lastly, by the time you read this, Jad and Alex may already be at The Alternative Press Expo in San Francisco, selling the crap out of our comics and our irresistibility. Hugs are free. Why fight it? Come by. Let The New Radio take care of you.

We got beans.

Ho-de-day, rowdies. People are starting to talk. Check out how much Aint It Cool and Movie Poop Shoot loved The Last Island. While you're at it, check out how much Broken Frontier loved it, too. And if you haven't already, ask your comic store for it or buy it from us.

The New Radio is love.

It's like a more interesting El Paso.

Howdy, Team. Alex here. Jad and I are still sort of recovering from Staple!, which was last weekend in Austin, Texas. We had an absolute blast.

We came into Austin Friday afternoon, after about 12 hours of to-and-from-airport madness, and, unfortunately, running on about 45 minutes' sleep. This meant we were mostly unable to get rowdy at the Staple! pre-party, but after a sound night's sleep, Jad and I got up early, rarin' to tear up the show.

And we did. We met a ton of great people--Chris Nicholas, Dale Wallain and Veronica Meewes, Mike LaRiccia, and more--and we moved a ton of comics. The vibe was friendly and the crowd was very receptive to the exhibitors. I guess Austin loves comics. Great fun.

We even managed to start some trouble late into the afterparty. With a little drink in us, we did some fun-ass, contagious dancing. The unbeatable and sober Mike LaRiccia, however--he didn't even need his ancient, lukewarm Heineken. Badboy gets down with or without drink.

We loved you, Staple! We'll be back.

Guess what, team. If you pick up a copy of the new Wizard Magazine, #174, you'll find one of Alex's drawings on p. 132. Comics life, yo.

Hey, team. Check out the interview with Alex over at The Pulse!

The Last Island
1.31.06

Hey, team. Alex here. You know we're called The New Radio and not New Radio Comics, right? Right?

Jad and I just spent a hardcore couple of weeks contacting stores and mailing out previews of The Last Island--all in the interest of gettin' the book into a store near you, because you sincerely deserve to buy the book. Anyway, we're excited for the book's release in April, but for those of you who can't stand the wait, preview books are gonna show up at Jim Hanley's Universe in New York City and at the Staple! show in Austin, Texas on March 4th.

Work proceeds on Poison the Cure, and the first part will be out inside of 2006, after I murder myself drawing Jad's crazy script. Please do not expect a silent comic or expect anything else, because even we are surprised by the look of things so far. If you have to expect something, expect greatness. The New Radio delivers.
